NEW YEAR’S DAY OFFICE CLOSURES FOR BRENHAM, WASHINGTON CO. OFFICES
City of Brenham and Washington County offices will be closed on Wednesday to celebrate New Year’s Day.
Brenham City Hall, Brenham Municipal Court, Brenham Animal Services and the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library will all be closed on Wednesday. County offices will also be closed; however, county commissioners will host a meeting at 9 a.m. in the district courtroom of the courthouse to administer the oath of office to newly elected officials.
The Blue Bell Aquatic Center will be closed for New Year’s Eve on Tuesday, in addition to Wednesday. The Collection/Transfer and Recycling Station will close early at 1 p.m. on Tuesday and will be fully closed on Wednesday.
The Brenham Washington County Visitor Center will be open on New Year’s Eve from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
No residential curbside trash or recycling will be available on Wednesday, as routes will be pushed back one day from the holiday. Pick-ups scheduled on Wednesday will take place on Thursday, with Thursday’s pick-ups happening on Friday and Friday’s taking place on Saturday.
Residents are asked to not overfill their carts. BVR will only collect items placed inside the carts.
Commercial dumpster routes on Wednesday will be worked into the routes that run on the Tuesday before the holiday or the Thursday after.
The offices of Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative will be closed on Wednesday. Bluebonnet members can access their account information and make payments by visiting www.bluebonnet.coop, using the MyBluebonnet mobile app, or calling 800-842-7708. Power outages can be called in at 800-949-4414 or reported through the website or mobile app. They can also be reported by texting OUT to 85700 through Bluebonnet Outage Alerts.
Brenham and Burton ISD schools remain out for the winter break and will resume classes on Wednesday, January 8th.
