THREE BLINN FOOTBALL PLAYERS RECEIVE ALL-AMERICAN HONORS
Three members of the Blinn Buccaneer Football Team have received NJCAA All-American honors.
Sophomore Punter Breck Chambers was a First Team All-American. This past season, Chambers, who is from Crawford, Texas, averaged 44.9 yards per punt with his longest of the season being a 62-yarder.
He punted the ball 39 times this season with seven being downed inside the 20-yard line. Chambers also added two touchbacks to his resume as well.
Second Team All-American honors went to former Brenham Cub Justin Garza. Garza, a sophomore defensive end, finished the season with 52 tackles, and 7.5 sacks.
The tackles break down into 18 solo tackles and 34 assisted tackles. He had three separate games where he had eight tackles.
In addition to that, Garza added nine QB hurries, and two passes defended.
Honorable Mention All-American recognition went to Sophomore Offensive Lineman Eric Aschenbeck, who is also a former Brenham Cub.
He is one of only four offensive linemen from the Southwest Junior College Football Conference to earn All-Conference honors
Aschenbeck recently signed on to continue his playing career at McNeese State.
The Buccaneers finished the season with a 4-5 record. All four of their wins came at home. Their five losses were all by single digit scores.
