ONE IN CUSTODY AFTER SHOTS FIRED IN LEXINGTON
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says a suspect is in custody after a shots fired call Tuesday night in Lexington.
The sheriff’s office put out a notice on social media around 8:45 p.m., asking the public to avoid the area of Gary Street and Holcombe Drive.
The Lexington High School basketball gym went into lockdown.
Close to 9 p.m., the sheriff’s office said there was no longer a threat to the public and that the lockdown had been lifted. Officials remained on scene to perform further investigation.
The identity of the suspect taken into custody, as well as the nature of any charges they may face, has not been released at this time.
