LEXINGTON HOSTING 59TH ANNUAL HOMECOMING CELEBRATION FRIDAY, SATURDAY
The Lexington Chamber of Commerce is getting ready for its 59th Annual Homecoming this weekend.
The celebration will take place in downtown Lexington this Friday and Saturday, offering opportunities to shop at vendors, check out a car show, participate in a barbecue cook-off, enjoy street dancing and see a parade.
Events get underway with the start of the cook-off on Friday at 4 p.m. and the opening of vendor booths at 5 p.m. The Texas Unlimited Band will perform from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Saturday begins with a car show at 8 a.m. and vendor shopping at 9 a.m. The homecoming parade will ride through at 10:30 a.m.
Awards will be presented in the car show at 2 p.m. The cook-off wraps up at 3 p.m., and the awards ceremony will take place at 5 p.m.
Saturday’s music lineup features Robert Lawhon and Triple Threat, playing from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Also part of the events will be the Lexington Homecoming Rodeo, hosted by Diamond Cross Rodeo at the Lexington Rodeo Arena, beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
