SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES ARRESTS FOR ASSAULT, LICENSE INFRACTIONS

  

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported four arrests between Monday and Wednesday.

Just past 3:30 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 700 block of Neumann Road.  The victim advised that a female subject was throwing items around in the residence and alleged she had assaulted him and another person.  After further investigation, 36-year-old Maria Cristina Chavez of Brenham was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail, where she was charged with Assault of a Family/Household Member with Previous Conviction and Assault by Contact.

A few minutes after 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sergeant Himebaugh initiated a traffic stop in the 7300 block of Highway 290 West for speeding.  The sheriff’s office said the driver did not possess a valid driver’s license or insurance for the vehicle.  31-year-old Erik Barba-Gonzales of Spring was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for Driving While License Invalid-Enhanced.

Around 10 p.m., Corporal Salinas conducted a traffic stop at 15 FM 390 East for no license plate light.  According to the sheriff’s office, the driver did not have a driver’s license and was found to have an active warrant.  35-year-old Israel Steven Morales of Somerville was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail for two counts of No Driver’s License.

Close to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Deputy Presswood conducted a traffic stop in the 2900 block of Highway 290 West for defective tail lamps.  The sheriff’s office reported that the driver, 32-year-old Joshua Cole Lehotta of Conroe, did not have a valid driver’s license or proof of insurance.  Lehotta was taken into custody and booked in at the Washington County Jail for Driving While License Invalid Enhanced and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
