LA GRANGE HOSPITAL TO POSSIBLY RE-OPEN IN 2026

  

The St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange seems to have found new life.

The Fayette County Record is reporting that Progressive Health Group of Mississippi has finalized a deal to lease and operate the facility.

Progressive owns five hospitals in Mississippi and manages several more.

Part of their mission statement is to rejuvenate rural hospitals across the nation.

Progressive has a deal with a Florida-based investment group, which finalized purchase of the property last week.

Fayette County EMS Director Josh Vandever, who has been involved in the process, said that the hospital could re-open its doors as soon as the first half of 2026.

St. Mark’s has been closed since October of 2023 due to financial problems.

Progressive had previously tried to purchase the property, but was unsuccessful.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development put the property up for sale.  It was purchased by Mark M. Young Sr. of Atlanta for $806,000.

The Record said that it is not known what amount that Young sold the property for.
