The honor of 2025 Man and Woman of the Year went to David Cone and Linda Cook. BirdDog World Headquarters was named 2025 Business of the Year.
Cone is the president of Chappell Hill Sausage, which is a life member of the Chamber and the Chappell Hill Historical Society. Cone has served as a Chamber board member and helped coordinate numerous events, like the “Biggest Small-Town Parade” for the Fourth of July and the Wine and Cheese Stroll. He is also a strong supporter of the agriculture community, having served with the Washington County Fair Association board and as a past president, as well as a long-time volunteer for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and its grand entry committee.
Cook is a managing partner at T&L Maintenance. Since her family’s arrival in Washington County in 2002, she has been a member of the Lakes of Chappell Hill Homeowners Association, and she and her husband Travis are life members of the Chamber and the Chappell Hill Historical Society. She has served on the boards of the historical society and the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
BirdDog, co-founded by Jonathan Lusk and Taylor Jackson, quickly became a part of the community upon establishing roots last year in downtown Chappell Hill. Assisting landowners with land management while also hosting guided hunting and fishing tours, the business has become very active with the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department, Chappell Hill Historical Society, Chappell Hill Garden Club and the Independence Day Parade.
The banquet also recognized Dale Dugas for five years on the Chamber board and Joel Romo for his years of service as board president.
