Following issues first reported on Wednesday, the county said in an update today (Friday) that air quality testing conducted at the dispatch center at 301 North Baylor Street in Brenham “showed results within safe, normal, and acceptable parameters.”  The update included an assessment from K3 Consulting that the facility is safe to occupy.

Commissioner Kirk Hanath said, “Our dispatchers are dedicated to keeping our community safe, and we are equally committed to ensuring they have a healthy and safe workplace.”

The county also said that the City of Brenham, which leases the dispatch facility to Washington County, has scheduled a comprehensive cleaning of the building’s air ducts next week.  The county thanked the city for its “prompt attention and proactive efforts in addressing this matter.”
