VOTERS EXPERIENCING DELAYED MAILOUTS FOR VOTER CERTIFICATES
The Washington County Elections Office is notifying voters of delays in receiving new voter registration certificates.

Administrator Carol Jackson presents
her office's monthly report to county
commissioners at a meeting on
December 22nd.
Elections Administrator Carol Jackson posted information on the county’s website indicating that voter certificates were intended to have been mailed out in November, but mailing has been delayed due to issues the state has had to resolve with the new voter registration system.
Jackson says voters who plan to participate in the March primary election may still bring their expired voter certificate along with an approved state-issued ID. She says while the voter certificate may show “expired”, their voter registration is still “active”.
Voters are asked to not apply for a replacement voter certificate unless they have moved and have a change of address. Jackson says submitting a new voter registration application because the certificate shows it has expired is not recommended, as it could result in a duplicate certificate being mailed out or having duplicate voter registrations.
Jackson says the public’s patience is appreciated as the state works to address the issues.
Voters have until Monday, February 2nd to register to vote for the March 3rd primary election.
