ACCIDENT, MULTIPLE FIRE ALARMS TUESDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department responded to nine calls on Tuesday.
Just shy of 1:15 p.m., units were called out for a gas odor in the 2600 block of Highway 36 South. They checked the area and stood by until the City of Brenham Gas Department made location before returning to service.
A few minutes before 4 p.m., BFD personnel were requested for an agency assist in the 3700 block of Highway 36 South. The fire department assisted the Brenham Police Department at the scene before clearing the call.
Approaching 5 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a crash in the 1400 block of West Main Street. They discovered a two-vehicle accident with minor damage and no injuries. Units provided traffic control and removed debris from the roadway.
The department also responded to six fire alarm calls, including three in the 600 block of Medical Court, one in the 1900 block of Longwood Drive, one in the 2600 block of Cantey Street and one in the 900 block of West Third Street. All of the alarms were either false or the result of a bad smoke detector.
