Just before 10:30 a.m., Navasota Police Dispatch received several calls reporting a reckless driving 18-wheeler was traveling south on Highway 6 in Brazos County.

One caller advised that the truck was tailgating and swerving at their vehicle while passing through a construction zone.

The caller stated that they exited the highway out of concern for their safety. While doing so, the driver of the 18-wheeler allegedly pointed a firearm at them.

Navasota Police Officers responded to the area and located the 18-wheeler exiting Highway 6 onto North LaSalle Street.

A felony traffic stop was conducted in the 500 block of North LaSalle, and the driver, 24-year-old Jordy Suljanovic, was detained without incident.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a firearm and THC products.

After a background check, it was discovered that Suljanovic had at least one prior felony conviction.

He was booked into the Grimes County Jail in Anderson for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 4 to 400 grams.

According to Navasota Police, possible additional charges of reckless driving and terroristic threat will be referred to the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office.
