LADY PANTHER BASKETBALL DEFEATS BREMOND TO SET UP SHOWDOWN ON FRIDAY

The Burton Lady Panther Basketball Team just keeps right on winning as they defeated the Bremond Lady Tigers 49-34 last (Tuesday) night at the Burton High School Gym.

Burton used a big first half to grab an early lead and never let go. The Lady Panthers outscored Bremond 17-9 in the first quarter, and 14-11 in the second quarter. That sent Burton into the locker room with a 31-20 lead.

The Lady Panthers increased their advantage with a 12-6, which upped their lead to 43-26.

The fourth quarter was the only one that the Lady Tigers outscored Burton, 8-6.

Lexi Broesche (Burton ISD)

Val Hernandez led the Lady Panthers with 13 points, while Harper Hodde and Lexi Broesche added 10 points each.

With the win, Burton remains in second place. They are one game behind Mumford for first place.

Mumford is coming to the Burton High School Gym on Friday night for a 6:15pm game.

Both teams have clinched playoff spots. If Mumford wins, they will clinch the District Championship. If Burton wins, they will be tied for first with two games to go.
