The Brenham Heritage Museum has announced a $25,000 donation from Blue Bell Creameries to sponsor the “Going Pro” section of the museum’s Washington County Sports Exhibit.  The featured gallery will highlight athletes from Brenham High School, Pickard High School and Blinn College who advanced to the professional level, with a focus on major leaguers and a representative selection of minor league players as space allows.

The museum says the “Going Pro” gallery is designed to be a centerpiece of the exhibit and will showcase the depth of local talent and the enduring legacy of sports excellence in the community through photographs, stories and memorabilia.

Blue Bell President and CEO Jimmy Lawhorn said the company is honored to support the initiative and facilitate its advancement, stating, “By investing in this gallery, we aim to help preserve the history, dedication, and passion of local athletic achievements that inspire us all.”

Brenham Heritage Museum Interim Executive Director Ciera Harris said the museum is “incredibly grateful to Blue Bell Creameries for their generous support and commitment to preserving our local history.”  She said, “Their sponsorship of the ‘Going Pro’ section allows us to highlight the extraordinary accomplishments of athletes from our community and create what we believe will be one of the exhibit’s most exciting and inspiring features.”

Fundraising efforts for the exhibit remain ongoing, with opportunities for individuals, businesses and organizations to contribute.  For more information, or to learn how to support the project, visit https://brenhamheritagemuseum.org or email Harris at director@brenhamheritagemuseum.org
