CUB BASEBALL DROPS NON-DISTRICT GAME TO CY WOODS
To get them ready for the playoffs, the Brenham Cub Baseball Team wanted to test their skills against tough teams, while on the bye week. They got a 6-2 win over Iowa Colony on Friday night. However, Cy Woods proved to be a difficult task on Saturday afternoon.
Cy Woods, who is one of the top rated 6A teams, came into the game with a 26-2 overall record, and 12-0 in their district.
The Wildcats run-ruled the Cubs 10-0, and also saw their pitchers combine on a no-hitter.
Cy Woods scored in each of the first four innings. They had two runs in the first, one in the second, three in the third, and four in the fourth.
The Cubs committed five errors in the field, which lead to nine of the Wildcats' ten runs being unearned.
Offensively, Brenham was held at bay. They managed only three walks and a hit batter.
With the loss, Brenham drops to 20-9-1 on the season. They will return to District 17-5A play on Tuesday against Rudder. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm at Fireman's Park. KWHI will have live coverage beginning at 6:35pm on KWHI 1280AM, 101.7FM, and KWHI.com.
