HARRIS PROMOTED TO BRENHAM HERITAGE MUSEUM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

  

The Brenham Heritage Museum Board of Directors is pleased to announce the promotion of Ciera Harris to Executive Director following a vote at the April 2026 board meeting.

Ms. Harris joined the Brenham Heritage Museum in 2023 as Administrative Assistant and Program Coordinator and was promoted to Deputy Director in early 2025. Over the past year, she has served as Interim Executive Director, supporting the museum’s ongoing development and community engagement efforts.

Phillip Van Dorf, Chair of the Brenham Heritage Museum Board of Directors, expressed enthusiasm for the appointment: "We are so excited to announce the promotion of Ciera Harris to Executive Director of the Brenham Heritage Museum! Her hard work and dedication to our museum and community is inspiring. This promotion is well deserved. We are excited about this move that will set up the Museum’s future for years to come!"

Ms. Harris is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and holds certificates in nonprofit leadership and finance from Rice University. Reflecting on her new role, she shared: "It has been an exciting experience serving the Brenham community through preserving local history and culture. The Board of Directors has been very generous and helpful to me, and I look forward to working with them on many projects, including new exhibits, programming, and community events! The Brenham Heritage Museum remains dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history and culture of the Brenham community.
