BRENHAM BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT TO HEAR VARIANCE REQUEST

  

The Brenham Board of Adjustment will take up a variance request on Monday.

The applicant, Rivera Melendez, is looking to build a single-family home at 1201 Mangrum Street and is seeking reductions in the minimum required side and rear yard setbacks to do so. 

City staff says the proposed 2,300-square-foot home will not fit within the minimum required setbacks on the diagonal slanted lot.  The applicant is seeking a 5-foot side setback, where 10 feet is the standard, and a 17-foot rear setback, where 25 feet is the norm.

Staff recommends approval of the item. 

The board will meet Monday at 5:15 p.m. at Brenham City Hall.
