SHERIFF’S OFFICE PURSUIT ENDS WITH A CRASH AND A BEE ATTACK

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office got more than they bargained for after pursuing a vehicle that refused to stop on Wednesday evening.
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that just before 6pm, Deputy Joe Gonzales attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2010 Jeep Cherokee on FM 609 near I-10 for a traffic violation.
The vehicle refused to stop and a pursuit of the suspect went into the City of Flatonia, down several streets, and returned into the County on FM 609 north bound, before turning on Stryk Rd.
Then, the chase turned on South Knesek Road, and wrecked out into some trees.
As Law Enforcement approached the vehicle, a swarm of bees were observed around the vehicle, and started stinging the Officers.
Fayette County EMS and the Flatonia Fire Department were called to the scene.
The suspect, who was identified as 31-year-old Bradley Langhamer of LaGrange, was removed from the vehicle and taken to Columbus Community Hospital.
He was later transferred by Life Flight Helicopter to Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston for Injuries obtained in the accident.
According to the Sheriff’s office, charges are being filed against Langhamer with the County Attorney’s Office.
