BRENHAM PD REPORTS BOOKINGS FOR ATTEMPTING TO TAKE WEAPON FROM OFFICER, ASSAULT BY THREAT, MULTIPLE INTOXICATION OFFENSES
Brenham police arrested nine people over the weekend.
Around 9 p.m. Friday, Officer Stephen Mosley responded to the 1100 block of Trellis Pass in reference to a welfare concern. During the investigation, officers attempted to detain 50-year-old Jim Lee Barker of Brenham. While being detained, Barker allegedly attempted to remove Officer Mosley’s pistol from its holster, but was unsuccessful. Barker was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for Attempting to Take a Weapon from an Officer.
Just before 2 a.m. Saturday, Officer Brayten Rolling responded to the 300 block of South Baylor Street in reference to an intoxicated person. Upon arrival, officers located the subject, who they reported was highly intoxicated and was planning on driving to College Station. 38-year-old Erasmo Mondragon of College Station was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and booked at the Washington County Jail.
A few minutes after 8:15 p.m., Officer Mosley responded to the 200 block of Blinn Boulevard in reference to a disturbance. According to police, their investigation revealed that 52-year-old Bill Kenneth Rogers of Brenham had allegedly threatened a family member and was in possession of marijuana. Rogers was taken to the Washington County Jail for Assault by Threat/Family Violence and Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m., Corporal James Catchings conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Highway 290 West. Police say that the driver was highly intoxicated. 53-year-old Paul Garcia of Brenham was placed into custody for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Washington County Jail.
Just shy of 10 p.m., Sergeant Jose Perez conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Highway 290 West. Upon contact with the driver, police found that he did not have a driver’s license. 18-year-old Saul Hernandez of Brenham was charged with No Driver’s License and transported to the Washington County Jail.
Around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Sergeant Perez responded to the 700 block of Medical Parkway in reference to an intoxicated person. Upon arrival, police say their investigation revealed that a subject was intoxicated in a public place. 60-year-old Billy Black of Burton was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and booked into the Washington County Jail.
Approaching 3 a.m., officers responded to the 800 block of Pleasantview Avenue in reference to a disturbance. Officer Brayten Rolling collected the information for the disturbance and, while obtaining names, located a wanted subject. 20-year-old Genevia Rogers of Brenham was placed into custody for an active warrant for Accident Involving Damage to a Vehicle Greater Than $200. Rogers was taken to the Washington County Jail.
Around 3:15 a.m., Officer Mosley was at Parkview Street in reference to a call for service when he was approached by 26-year-old Breanna Nechelle Nowak of Brenham, who advised she wanted to turn herself in. Nowak’s information was run and showed to have an active warrant out of Washington County for Public Intoxication. Nowak was taken into custody and booked into the Washington County Jail without incident.
Shortly after 11:45 p.m., Officer Brayten Rolling initiated a follow-up at the 700 block of Pleasantview Avenue. Officers were at the location moments earlier in reference to a physical disturbance occurring that claimed 36-year-old Derrell Dion Johnson of Brenham was the suspect. While conducting the investigation, police determined that Johnson was intoxicated and deemed him a danger to himself and others. Johnson was placed into custody for Public Intoxication and transported to the Washington County Jail.
