BRENHAM FD RESPONDS FOR ACCIDENTS, GAS LINE LEAK
The Brenham Fire Department was called out four times on Monday.
Close to 12:45 p.m., units went out to a home in the 1100 block of Apache Drive for a gas line leaking. They arrived to find a contractor on location had hit a gas line. The fire department stood by until the line was capped.
At roughly the same time, firefighters responded to a transportation incident in the 2600 block of Highway 36 South. They discovered a two-vehicle accident with fluids leaking. Units mitigated the spill and returned to service after both vehicles were removed from the roadway.
Just shy of 4:45 p.m., BFD personnel were dispatched to the 4900 block of Mustang Road for a report of smoke in the area. They arrived in the area and found a controlled burn with no issues.
Around 8:15 p.m., firefighters were called out to the 9100 block of FM 1697 for hazmat at a crash. Units from the Brenham Fire Department and Burton Volunteer Fire Department found a single-vehicle accident with diesel leaking from a tank. After plugging the tank, the Brenham department returned to the station, while Burton units stayed on location.
