WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS PROPOSED JUDICIAL CENTER, REVIEW STUDY FINDINGS

  

Washington County Commissioners will take another look at the proposed judicial center at their meeting on Tuesday.

The court will receive a presentation from PlanNorth on the project and go over the findings and recommendations from a judgeship needs study prepared by Fentress, Inc.

At their most recent meeting, commissioners went through study findings regarding the proposed Expo covered rodeo arena.  Both projects are being considered by the court, with funding to come from either certificates of obligation or a bond election.  That decision will be discussed further during a special called meeting on Monday at 8 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.

In other business on Tuesday, commissioners will recognize Washington County retirees and employees celebrating notable years of service for the second quarter.

The EMS Department will present its quarterly report.  That will be followed by monthly reports from the sheriff’s office, county and district clerks, justices of the peace, auditor, tax assessor-collector, treasurer, constables, elections and veterans service office.

Also at Tuesday’s meeting, commissioners will:

• Consider hiring a deputy clerk in the county attorney’s office for a pay rate exceeding the 6 percent allowable amount. 
• Act on a resolution for the 2026 Indigent Defense Grant Program.
• Accept a $50 donation from Bobi Anderson for deposit into the Washington County Sheriff’s Office donation account.
• Discuss formal notices from Periti Group for new fiber installation in the county right-of-way of Old Independence Road and Hopmann Road in Precinct 3.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the courthouse.
