BRENHAM FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND FOR CRASH, GAS LEAK

The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls on Tuesday and one early this (Wednesday) morning.

Shortly after 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters received a report of a gas leak in the 1700 block of North Park Street.  They stood by and helped with traffic control while the City of Brenham Gas Department worked on the leak.  Once the leak was stopped, the fire department was released by the gas department.

Units were dispatched a little after 1:45 p.m. for a community relations call at a home in the 1700 block of Robinson Drive.  They made location to find bad batteries in a smoke detector.

At 6:30 p.m., BFD personnel responded to a hazmat call at Highway 290 West and FM 2502.  Upon arrival, they found that the fire was out.  They checked for hazards and found none.

At 5 a.m. today, members of the Brenham Fire Department were called out to assist the Burton Volunteer Fire Department at a reported crash with entrapment at Highway 290 West and Mulberry Street.  All occupants were out of the vehicles.  Brenham firefighters were released by Burton units.  No information was available on any potential injuries.
