COMMISSIONERS APPROVE LAND PURCHASE FOR BURTON EMS SUBSTATION
Washington County Commissioner approved the purchase of property this (Tuesday) morning for an EMS substation in Burton. The two acres are adjacent to the Burton City Hall on spur 125 and were purchased for $25,000. EMS Director Kevin Deramus said that they hope to break ground this month on the property. He said that a simple metal building will be constructed that will have one bay for a vehicle along with an office and sleeping quarters.
In other action, commissioners approved accepting the 2018 grant from the Indigent Defense Formula Grant Program. The grant totals $22,320 and the amount continues to drop each year. County Judge John Brieden said that the grant was $37,000 in 2015 and about $29,000 in 2016.
Commissioners also approved a revised fee schedule for the County Environmental Health Department. The revised fees become effective January 1st.
