KOEHN CONFIRMS CHARETTE CAMPAIGN INVESTIGATION

  

Austin County District Attorney Travis Koehn has confirmed to KWHI that he is acting on behalf of Washington County in investigating complaints against a candidate for Court at Law Judge.

Koehn is acting as a special prosecutor regarding complaints that local attorney Robbie Gail Charette may have violated election laws in the current campaign, mostly involving financial reporting.

Koehn says due to this being an active investigation, he cannot comment on the exact specifics of the query.

Koehn was asked to conduct the investigation by Judge Carson Campbell, after Washington County Attorney Rene Mueller recused herself from the case.

Charette told the Brenham Banner Press she believes the investigation is politically motivated.
