DISTRICT 13 SPECIAL ELECTION RESULTS

The election for someone to fill the unexpired term for District 13 State Representative is not yet over.

After Saturday’s special election, the two Republican candidates are headed for a runoff.

Ben Leman finished on top of the balloting, with 6695 votes, or 43.3%.  That is short of the 50-percent needed to avoid a runoff.

Leman will face Jill Wolfskill, who finished with 5698 votes, or 36.9%.

Democrat Cecil Webster got 3065 votes, to finish third with 19.8%.

No date has been set for the runoff.

However, Leman and Wolfskill will square off later this month in the runoff election for the Republican nomination for the District 13 general election against Webster in November.
