LCRA TO PRESENT THREE COMMUNITY GRANTS IN AUSTIN, WASHINGTON COUNTIES TUESDAY
The Brenham Police Department is one of three area entities that will be receiving community grants tomorrow (Tuesday) from the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA).
The police department will receive a $23,500 grant at their station at 1800 Longwood Drive in Brenham. LCRA representatives will be there to present the grant, which will be used to purchase removable bollards to help with traffic control during downtown festivals and other special events.
In addition, the Washington Texas Volunteer Fire Department will be presented a $19,740 grant, from the LCRA and Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative. The fire department will receive the grant at 11 a.m., at their station at 15505 Highway 105 in Washington. These funds will go towards purchasing a gas generator.
The Bellville Turnverein Pavilion Restoration Project will also be receiving a grant for $22,000. Representatives from the City of Bellville and the LCRA will present the grant at 1 p.m. at the pavilion, located at 966 East Main Street in Bellville. The grant will be used to help upgrade the pavilion’s electrical system.
