GRIMES CO. DA SENTENCES DRUG DEALER TO 15 YEARS IN PRISON

A drug dealer arrested in Grimes County with some unusual drug substances has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Michael Ray Peterson, Jr.
(Grimes Co. Jail)

Michael Ray Peterson, Jr. pled guilty Tuesday to a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.  This is the first prison sentence for Peterson, who was facing two indictments on the charge.

Peterson was arrested last June following a traffic stop on FM 1774, where a DPS trooper reportedly smelled marijuana in his vehicle.  Prosecutors said, following a search of the vehicle, authorities located a zippered bag and a pistol determined to be stolen out of Harris County.

According to the Grimes County District Attorney’s Office, the bag contained marijuana, a scale, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, Oxycodone pills, and Ecstasy pills in the shape of President Donald Trump’s face.  Peterson was also said to have had a large bundle of cash on his person.

Peterson is currently in the Grimes County Jail, awaiting transfer to prison.
