DEADLINE FRIDAY TO APPLY FOR FUNDING THROUGH BELLVILLE EDC BUSINESS RELIEF PROGRAM
Today (Friday) is the last day for businesses in Bellville to apply for assistance through the Bellville Economic Development Corporation (BEDC).
Last Friday, the BEDC began its Emergency Business Short-Term Relief Program to help small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. The program looks to provide short-term relief for businesses that continue to wait for assistance from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
Qualifying businesses within Bellville city limits are eligible to receive interest-free loans of up to $10,000. The program has an overall cap of $200,000. The BEDC board could meet again, if necessary, to raise the cap.
Approved businesses will need to pay the BEDC back for any assistance received, as it will be provided through loans or lines of credit. However, they will not need to pay it back until August 1st, or within 30 days after receiving SBA assistance.
Applications need to be submitted by 5 p.m. today to the BEDC Executive Director. Approved applications will be funded and mailed on or before Wednesday.
