START OF ROUND TOP FALL ANTIQUES SHOW PUSHED BACK TO OCTOBER
The beginning of the annual Round Top Fall Antiques Show has been delayed into October.
The show, which typically begins in September, has been rescheduled from October 15th to November 1st. The action, according to a release, aims to position the event for better safety and success, and potentially reduce the likelihood it will be cancelled.
Show organizers, vendors, and landowners have maintained close communication with county and city officials. The Fayette County Office of Emergency Management will monitor the situation closely for any future actions to be taken. All entities involved will work closely with local, regional, and state public health experts to evaluate the data and the capacity of local healthcare providers.
Venues have agreed to adopt enhanced health standards for their individual shows to include mandatory masks for shoppers and dealers when social distancing cannot be achieved, shopping set up to ease the ability to remain socially distant, capacity limits according to state standards at the time, and enhanced hand-sanitizing facilities.
Round Top Mayor Barry Bone said, with the support of local venues and year-round businesses, organizers feel they can “create a safe and health-focused shopping atmosphere”.
The majority of the venues are in open-air buildings, barns, and temporary tents. Venues with enclosed areas will have enhanced procedures to provide for healthy shopping and dining.
