BRENHAM ISD ANNOUNCES MEAL PLANS FOR ON-SITE, REMOTE LEARNERS
Brenham ISD will continue to offer breakfast and lunch on campus to students, whether they are learning in-person or remotely.
Wednesday, the school district announced its plans to offer meals for on-site and remote students.
Meals for on-campus students will be served on disposable trays, and all foods will be packaged for protected meal service. Additionally, safety protocols have been implemented in each cafeteria to ensure the safety of students and staff. Meanwhile, for remote learners, the school district will offer a drive-thru meal service at the Brenham High School and Brenham Junior High School campuses. Signs will be posted at these campuses directing families to the pick-up location.
If a student’s home campus is Brenham Junior High School, Brenham Middle School, or Krause Elementary School, their drive-thru pick up location is Brenham Junior High School. If their home campus is Brenham High School, Brenham Elementary School, Alton Elementary School, or the Early Childhood Learning Center, their drive-thru pick up will be at Brenham High School.
Brenham Junior High School will serve meals outside the snack bar door near the bus entry from 10 to 10:45 a.m. in drive-thru format, and from 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in school. At Brenham High School, meals will be served at the bus entry from 10 to 11 a.m. drive-thru, and from 11:30 a.m. to 1:25 p.m. in school.
Students will not need to be present in the vehicle to pick up their meal. A parent or guardian can bring the student’s ID card or Remote Learner Meal ID card to obtain their meal. Parents can pick up the Remote Learner Meal ID card at their child’s campus; parents with students at multiple campuses should go to the home campus of their oldest enrolled student.
The drive-thru meal menu will be posted monthly on the Brenham ISD Child Nutrition website. Remote learner parents or students will be required to order their meal by 9 a.m. each morning.
Starting August 25th, the first day of the school year, meals will be charged to all on-campus and remote learners depending on their paid, reduced, or free meal status. Parents are asked to make sure their child has money in their account prior to the first day of school. They can deposit money into their student’s account by visiting www.ezschoolpay.com or contacting their campus directly. Families can still apply for free or reduced meals by visiting http://brenham.healtheliving.net.
