BURTON CITY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS WATER WELL PROJECT IN WORKSHOP
The City of Burton will continue discussion on the city’s water system at a special council workshop on Tuesday.
Councilmembers will meet with the city’s financial advisors and bond counsel regarding the financing options for the planned new water well. The council will hope to come to a general consensus on the financing in order to move forward with the project, though no formal action will be taken.
In September, the council decided to drill the new well near the current one at Burton City Hall. The city has received $593,800 in grant funding through the Texas General Land Office’s Community Development Block Grant Mitigation Program. However, the total cost for the project, as discussed during that September meeting, could reach roughly $1.5 million at a minimum.
The council will meet Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Burton City Hall.
