George “Trey” Holleway III has been chosen to sit on the ballot as the Republican candidate for the position in the November 3rd General Election. The constable post was formerly held by Faske, who died in May after serving 31 years in the position.
Being unopposed on the ballot, Holleway will be elected in November and sworn in in January. The Precinct One Constable’s Office will continue to cover Precinct Two until the transition takes place.
Holleway has served in several capacities across the state, including highway patrol in Washington County from 1997-1999. Before retiring as captain in the Criminal Investigations Division of DPS in Houston, he organized and led task forces targeting criminal enterprises, child abductions, human trafficking, fugitive apprehension, and violent crime. He has also served on the Governor’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.
Holleway said he considers it “an honor to serve the people of Washington County as their constable in Precinct Two”.
