A longtime DPS official that has served the Brazos Valley for many years has announced his retirement.
DPS Sergeant Jimmy Morgan announced his retirement today (Friday), after over 31 years with the department.
Sgt. Morgan started his career with the department in 1989 as a State Trooper in Groveton, after graduating from a 1988 recruit class in Austin.
In May of 1991, Sgt. Morgan transferred to Cameron. He remained in Milam County as a State Trooper until he transferred to Bryan as the new Safety Education Trooper in December of 2008.
Sgt. Morgan was also a featured guest for several years on KWHI’s bi-weekly “Safety Talk” program, where he educated listeners on traffic, criminal laws, and highway safety in Texas.
