UNITY THEATRE TO BEGIN 2020-21 SEASON WITH “THE DIARIES OF ADAM AND EVE”

Unity Theatre in Brenham will look to open the curtains on the 2020-21 season for the first time later this month, after postponing the first scheduled show due to COVID-19.

Showing from October 29th to November 8th is Mark Twain’s The Diaries of Adam and Eve, a dramatic comedy adapted by David Birney.  The Studio Series production will be presented on the Main Stage in order to accommodate social distancing guidelines as specified by the state and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  There will be options for in-person attendance and online streaming.

The theatrical piece looks through the eyes of Adam and Eve, and takes a light-hearted glimpse at first love and the first battle of the sexes.  The two come to know and love each other despite many trials and tribulations using wit and poignancy.

Masks will be required for all people at the theatre, and safe distancing will be followed at all times by staff, patrons, actors and crew.

The Diaries of Adam and Eve opens with a preview performance on October 29th, featuring a talk-back with the cast and crew after the show.  Director Sophia Watt will host a chat prior to the show on the evening of November 7th.  Show times are Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 4 p.m.

Tickets are $25, and reservations are required.  Circle Member and Subscriber reservations begin Monday, while tickets will be released to the public for online purchase on October 19th.
