MOTORCYCLE CHASE LEADS TO FAYETTE COUNTY ARREST

  

A Bay City man is in Fayette County Jail following a high-speed chase, Sunday.

DPS clocked a motorcycle driven by 24-year-old Roberto Perez of Bay City, at 117 miles per hour on State Highway 71 near LaGrange.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department joined the chase that reached speeds of over 120 miles per hour.

The chase ended when Perez reportedly tried to exit Highway 71 onto Munn Street in Ellinger, hit loose gravel, and lost control of the motorcycle.

Authorities took Perez into custody.  He was treated for minor injuries and released from a local hospital.

Perez is charged with Evading Arrest and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.  He is being held in the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
