BRENHAM ISD NOT ELIGIBLE FOR P-EBT BENEFITS
Families in Brenham ISD are not eligible to receive the now available Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) benefits.

Through P-EBT, eligible school children receive temporary emergency nutrition benefits loaded on EBT cards that can be used to purchase food. Children who are eligible include those who qualify under the National School Lunch Act and whose school closed or reduced hours or attendance for at least 5 consecutive days due to COVID-19.
Brenham ISD said on Wednesday that as it did not close or reduce in-person learning hours or attendance, it does not qualify for P-EBT benefits.
The P-EBT program is part of the U.S. government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In January, the USDA announced a 15 percent increase to P-EBT benefits to provide more money for low-income families and millions of children missing meals due to school and child care closures.
