SALES TAX REBATES UP FOR ALL WASHINGTON CO. ENTITIES IN JULY

  

Sales and tax distributions were up across the board in Washington County in July.

This month’s rebate for Washington County was $306,053, up 22.49 percent from its rebate of $249,841 last July.  Through 2021 so far, the county has received $1,961,342, 13.48 percent up from the $1,728,356 it received through this point last year.

Brenham’s rebate in July totaled $633,722, a 10.6 percent increase from last July’s payment of $572,982.  The city has received $4,407,670 so far this year, up 11.72 percent from last year’s payment-to-date of $3,945,014.

Burton received $7,350 this month, up 3.11 percent compared to its rebate of $7,128 last July.  The city’s receipts through July total $50,837, down 0.95 percent from a year ago, when it had received $51,325.

According to Comptroller Glenn Hegar, the state paid out $893.2 million in local sales tax allocations in July, up 20 percent from last July and up 10.8 percent for the year to date.
