REP. LEMAN NOT SEEKING RE-ELECTION
State Representative Ben Leman has announced that he will not seek another term as the representative of House District 13.

Leman said in a release this (Friday) afternoon that his decision came after much discussion with his family, and that he believes the current season of his public service is “winding down for the near future.”
Leman said, “Responsibilities and duties outside of public office will require much more of my time moving forward.” He said he has enjoyed fighting for rural Texas values, and will continue to do so as a private citizen.
Leman said he will serve the remainder of his current term.
Leman has served as House District 13’s representative since being elected in a special election in May 2018 to fill the unexpired term of former representative Leighton Schubert. He was then elected in November 2018 to his first full term, and ran unopposed in his bid for re-election in 2020.
Prior to Leman’s time to the state House, he served as Grimes County Judge after being elected in 2014, before stepping down to run for state office.
House District 13 covers Austin, Burleson, Colorado, Fayette, Grimes, Lavaca and Washington counties.
