AGENCIES CONTINUE SEARCH FOR MISSING GRIMES CO. TODDLER
The search continues for a missing Grimes County child, and authorities say their search is still a rescue operation.
Around 150 law enforcement officials and volunteers are attempting to locate 3-year-old Christopher Ramirez, who on Wednesday went missing from his family’s home in the 10000 block of Deer Park Lane in Plantersville.
As of Thursday, authorities have completed five rounds of searches but have not located the toddler. Officials have also searched three bodies of water and drained a pond, and have even searched the homes of two registered sex offenders in the area.
Araceli Nunez, Christopher’s mother, said she and her family were unloading a van in their driveway Wednesday afternoon, and it took about two minutes for her to realize he was missing. A neighbor told her that he followed a dog into the woods; the dog later returned, but not the boy.
Nunez believes someone may have taken her son, but Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell says there is no evidence of abduction or other foul play at this time.
The search now includes the FBI, Homeland Security, Texas Rangers and Texas EquuSearch.
Ramirez is approximately 3 feet tall and weighs between 40 and 45 pounds. He was last seen wearing a bright green shirt, unknown color shorts and red Mickey Mouse shoes.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office at 936-873-2151.
