A queen has been crowned at the 94th Annual Austin County Fair.

Neelie Schiels was named Fair Queen at the queen’s pageant Saturday.  Schiels was one of nine candidates vying for the honor.

Ticket Queen and 1st Runner Up was Mary Elizabeth Richardson.

Also crowned Saturday night were the winners of the Little and Junior Mister and Miss Contests, as well as the Junior Fair Queen.  Kyndal Bettis and Brody Follis were named Little Miss and Mister, while Brooklyn Bettis and Rhett Reichardt were the winners of Junior Miss and Mister.  Paris Flowers was named Junior Fair Queen.

Festivities for the fair got underway over the weekend with the pageant, the opening of livestock judging and entertainment.  Judging continues throughout this week, leading up to the youth livestock auction at noon on Friday.

The fair parade will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. on the town square in Bellville.  KTEX-106’s Marshall Garrett will be at the parade, broadcasting live from the KTEX Country Cruiser.

Music continues on Thursday with the Chad Cooke Band and Joe Nichols, followed on Friday by Jon Stork and Dos Borrachos featuring Kevin Fowler and Roger Creager, and concluding on Saturday with Tyler McCollum and Aaron Watson.
