BRENHAM | WASHINGTON CO. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PARTICIPATES IN PRESS CONFERENCE WITH GOV. ABBOTT

Brenham | Washington County Economic Development was chosen to participate at a recent press conference hosted by Governor Greg Abbott.
Economic Development Director Susan Cates was selected to accompany Abbott during his announcement last week that Texas won Site Selection magazine’s Governor’s Cup for a record-breaking 10th year in a row.
The award highlights top-performing states for job creation and capital investment. Abbott was joined for the announcement by Cates, along with representatives from Site Selection, company representatives, and economic development leaders from across the state.

Cates said the Governor’s Office of Economic Development was vital in assisting Washington County with securing the Corrosion Resistant Alloys (CRA) project last year. CRA is a manufacturer of high grade corrosion resistant alloy tubes with a primary market in the upstream oil and gas industry, and will be building a new production facility along Highway 290, east of Brenham.
Cates said small- to mid-sized communities like Washington County “play a large role in the success of Texas in securing quality jobs and capital investment to our Great State.”
