BRENHAM NEXT IN NEED OF SPONSORS, DONATIONS

A youth ministry in Brenham is asking for community support as it begins its summer programs.

Brenham NEXT is looking for monthly sponsors and donations to help fund its summer JAM activities.

The JAM program serves children grades K-6 with biblical leadership programs, STEP dancing, field trips and summer learning.  During the school year, Brenham NEXT also oversees the afterschool BLAST program that provides leadership training, tutoring, snacks and exercise.

Children in the program are led by Brenham NEXT’s Operations Director, AJ Jerkins, and numerous educational instructors from Brenham High School and Blinn College.  At least 70 percent of the children served by the nonprofit organization are from low-income housing.

Brenham NEXT is seeking monthly contributions or one-time donations to help fund the cost of curriculum, field trips, supplies and other items needed to sustain the programs annually.  Its annual budget to run both the BLAST and JAM programs, including salaries, stipends, office rental and other business expenses, is around $180,000.
