Long Life Brotherhood “First of August” Celebration

Long Life Brotherhood is hosting its annual "First of August" celebration on Saturday, August 6th, get your tickets in advance at the Texas Cotton Gin Museum and bring the whole family for a Mega Moon Bounce, DJs, face painting, food vendors, snow cones, sodas and more, gates open at 2:00 p.m. the wagon ride is at 4:00 p.m. and the show begins at 6:00 p.m. with Mr. Creole and the Zydeco Connections.  Historically, the event celebrates when news of the emancipation of enslaved African American finally made its way to Burton.
