BRYAN VIKINGS DEFEAT BRENHAM CUBS IN A WILD ONE 55-42

The Brenham Cub Football Team lost a tough one to the Bryan Vikings 55-42 at Cub Stadium on Friday night.

Brenham got on the board with 8:31 left in the first quarter when Rylan Wooten found Datavian Neal-Franklin on a 25 yard touchdown pass to make it 7-0 Cubs.

Bryan's Malcolm Gooden tied it up on a one yard run with 2:02 left in the first quarter to tie it up at 7-7.

Bryan went in front with 9:02 left in the second quarter when Tate Schneringer scored on a 39 yard touchdown run to put the Vikings up 14-7.

A short time later Gooden would find Tyson Turner on a 73 yard touchdown pass to increase the Vikings lead to 21-7 with 7:33 left to go until the half.

Tate Allen would then run one in out of the Wildcat formation with 5:09 left in the second quarter to increase the Bryan lead to 28-7.

The Cubs finally got back on the scoreboard as Wooten found Reid Robinson on a 25 yard touchdown pass with 1:50 left in the second quarter to cut the Vikings lead to 28-14.

However, Gooden would find Turner again on a 19 yard touchdown pass as time expired in the first half to make it Bryan up 35-14 heading into the locker room.

The Vikings got the ball to start the third quarter and marched it down the field with Gooden finding Terrence Lewis on a 14 yard touchdown pass at the 9:54 mark to make it 42-14.

Rylan Wooten would scored on a 10 yard touchdown run with 4:28 left in the third quarter to cut the lead down to 42-21.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Wooten would score on a one yard touchdown run to make it 42-28 with 9:56 left in the game.

54 seconds later, Coleman would find Turner for his third touchdown of the night on a 32 yard catch.  However, Bryan missed the extra point to make it 48-28 with 9:02 left in the game.

Wooten scored on a 1 yard run with 38.6 seconds left to make it 48-35.

Brenham then recovered an onside kick, and Keith Crawford scored on a four yard run with 8 seconds left to make it 48-42.

The Cubs then tried the onside kick again, but Turner would burn them one last time by grabbing the onside kick and running it back 48 yards for a touchdown to seal the win 55-42.

For Brenham, Rylan Wooten was 18-33 passing for 321 yards and two touchdowns.  He also carried the ball 25 times for 120 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Reid Robinson had a big night with 7 catches for 160 yards and 1 touchdown.  Datavian Neal-Franklin had 4 catches for 78 yards and a touchdown.

The Cubs are off next week for the Washington County Fair.  Their next game will be Thursday, September 22, against New Braunfels at 7pm. (6:30pm pregame on KWHI)
