The group of award-winning Broadway stars will cover some of the greatest music – past and present – in American Pop and Rock at the concert, which begins at 7 p.m.
The Barnhill Center producer Sharon Brass says the show is “an unforgettable musical journey from classic Doo Wop to modern hits.”
The Doo Wop Project performance starts with early rock ‘n roll hits from the Crests, Belmonts and Flamingos, followed by a journey into the R&B/Motown era with songs by Smokey Robinson, The Temptations and The Four Seasons. The show also includes songs by Frankie Valli, The Drifters and Del Vikings.
The group consists of stars from the Broadway hits Jersey Boys, A Bronx Tale, Motown: The Musical and many other theatrical shows. Each individual member has a collection of credentials, and their love of this style of music led to them forming The Doo Wop Project.
