BRENHAM MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGES EXTENDED
The Brenham City Council on Thursday voted to extend the appointments of two municipal court judges.
After an executive session, the council approved the reappointment of presiding Judge John Winkelmann and associate judge Robert Wright for two-year terms ending December 31, 2024.
In addition, the council approved a 2.5 percent salary increase for both judges effective January 1st, and another 2.5 percent increase for both effective January 1, 2024.
The current salary for Winkelmann is $28,366 per year, while Wright’s annual salary is $25,214.
Winkelmann, the former assistant county attorney for Washington County, has served as municipal court judge since his appointment in 2020. Wright has served as an associate judge since 2008.
