NAVASOTA WOMAN ACCUSED OF THREATENING EMPLOYEES OVER CREDIT CARD CHARGE, FLEEING POLICE
A Navasota woman was arrested after police say she made threats to a business’ employees over a credit card charge and led officers on a chase.
Friday morning, around 10:30 a.m., Navasota police responded to a business in the 600 block of South LaSalle Street for a report of a threat. The employees stated a customer, 25-year-old Rosalind McCoy, had called in reference to a charge made on her credit card to pay off a loan.
Officers discovered that McCoy was not presently at the location, but had made multiple threats over the phone to harm the employees.
At around noon, police saw McCoy driving around the business and attempted to stop her. According to police, she fled and was pursued by officers before she was stopped in the 12000 block of Highway 6.
Inside the vehicle were a large brick, kitchen knife and marijuana. McCoy confessed that the knife and brick were meant to be used to harm the employees.
McCoy was taken to the Grimes County Jail and charged with Evading in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Marijuana and Terroristic Threat.
