TxDOT: WORK ON HIGHWAY 290 IN BURTON NOT EXPECTED TO TAKE FULL TIMELINE TO COMPLETE
TxDOT officials say the work to put in overhead span wires on Highway 290 in Burton beginning tomorrow (Tuesday) should be through quickly.
Bob Colwell, Public Information Officer for TxDOT’s Bryan District, told KWHI that the provided project timeline of tomorrow to Thursday is “very broad” in order to give crew members ample time should they need it, but the likelihood of them taking all three days for completion is not substantial.
Colwell said the work is taking place along Highway 290 from its first intersection westbound with FM 390 to San Marcos Street. It is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. tomorrow.
Drivers will need to be mindful of eastbound and westbound main lane closures in 15-minute intervals. According to an internal email provided by Colwell, “assuming everything goes well, the expectation is one fifteen minute delay to have the span wire up.”
Message boards are in place to inform travelers of the closures. Law enforcement will assist in traffic control.
