SECURITY BOOTH AT BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL DAMAGED AFTER BEING STRUCK BY VEHICLE

No major injuries are reported after a vehicle struck the security booth at the entrance to the Brenham High School parking lot and flipped onto its side.

Just before 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, the Brenham Fire Department responded to a report of a crash with entrapment at 525 A H Ehrig Drive.

According to radio scanner traffic, a pickup truck was on its side after striking the booth, and the driver was still inside the vehicle.

Firefighters arrived and stabilized the vehicle before removing the windshield and extricating the driver.

The extent of the driver’s injuries is not known, but Brenham Fire Department Captain Joshua Sebastian said they were not expected to be serious.  The vehicle suffered major damage.

The door to the security booth was dented inward by the collision, and the glass window was cracked.  Two of the surrounding bollards were struck, with one being knocked onto the ground entirely.

Brenham ISD Communications and Community Engagement Director Brooke Trahan said the booth will need to be repaired in several areas to function as it did before.
