BRENHAM FFA CATTLE EXHIBITORS STAND OUT AT HOUSTON LIVESTOCK SHOW

  

Eleven members of the Brenham FFA showcased their beef cattle and took home awards at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo at the NRG Center.

Madison Moran exhibited her American Registered Breeds (ARB) heifer in the Scramble Show and earned 1^st place in her class, allowing her to contend in the American Champion Drive.  Moran also earned 1^st place for her Calf Scramble Business Plan, as well as 3^rd Overall Supreme Scrambler Honors in the American Heifer Division.  In addition, Moran showcased her ARB heifer in the Junior show, securing 8^th place in a class of 20.

Calvin Wunderlich and Chasidy Nowicki also showcased their ARB heifers in the Scramble Show, earning 5^th and 2^nd place in their respective classes.

Other notable exhibitors include Dawson Moran, Michael Kettler, Daniel Guerrero, Morgan Westerfeld, Grayson Hinze, Kate Allen, and Samantha Mahlmann, who showed various registered breeds and earned accolades for their performances.

Kaylin Jacobs represented the FFA in the Houston Market Steer Show, showcasing an ABC steer in the Heavy-Light weight class.

The students received dedicated support from their parents, family members, and Joseph Dickschat, Brenham FFA Advisor and Ag Science teacher, who accompanied them to Houston and provided guidance and encouragement throughout the competition.

Below are individual breakdowns for each Brenham FFA exhibitor.

1. Madison Moran:
   • Exhibited ARB heifer in Scramble Show, earning 1st place in class and contending in the American Champion Drive.
   • Received 1st place for Calf Scramble Business Plan and 3rd Overall Supreme Scrambler Honors in the American Heifer Division.
   • Showcased ARB heifer in Junior show, securing 8th place in a competitive class of 20.
2. Calvin Wunderlich:
   • Exhibited ARB heifer in Scramble Show, earning 5th place in class.
   • Showcased same female in Junior show, placing 12th in a class of 17.
3. Chasidy Nowicki:
   • Exhibited older ARB heifer, earning 2nd place in her class.
4. Dawson Moran:
   • Showed Brangus female, placing 2nd in a class of 15 entries, and earned the right to show in the yearling champion division drive.
5. Michael Kettler:
   • Exhibited registered Brangus heifer.
6. Daniel Guerrero:
   • Exhibited registered Brangus heifer.
7. Morgan Westerfeld:
   • Showed registered Beefmaster female.
8. Grayson Hinze:
   • Showed Brahman heifer, receiving 10th place in class.
9. Kate Allen:
   • Exhibited registered Simbrah female, earning 8th place honors.
10. Samantha Mahlmann:
    • Exhibited Charolais heifer, winning 3rd place in her class.
11. Kaylin Jacobs:
    • Represented Brenham FFA in the Houston Market Steer Show, showcasing an ABC steer in the Heavy-Light weight class.
