CUBETTE SOFTBALL PLAYERS EARN ALL-DISTRICT HONORS
The Brenham Cubette Softball Team was well represented on the District 21-5A All-District Team.
First Team All-District Honors went to Sarah Mabie and Avery Maurer. Mabie, a junior outfielder, led the team with a .417 batting average, and a .738 slugging percentage, plus she had a .450 on-base percentage. She also had nine doubles, three triples, tied for the team lead in home runs with six and lead the team with 34 RBIs.
Maurer, a junior shortstop, had a .356 batting average, a .454 on-base percentage, and a .545 slugging percentage. She also had six doubles, two triples, three homers, 17 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases.
Second Team Honors went to Heidi Busker, Kaylyn Rodriguez, and Halle Scheel.
Busker, a junior pitcher, went 5-7 in the circle, with two saves. She led the team with a 2.63 ERA.
Rodriguez, a senior first baseman, had a .309 batting average, a .358 on-base percentage, and a .536 slugging percentage. She also led the team with ten doubles, plus she had three triples, two homers, and 31 RBIs.
Scheel, a senior outfielder, finished with a .402 batting average, led the team with a .473 on-base percentage, and also had a .536 on-base percentage. She added three doubles, a team leading five triples, as well as 15 RBIs, and a team leading 19 stolen bases.
Honorable Mention Honors went to Kylie Baker and Annie Beckendorf.
Baker, a sophomore pitcher, led the team with a 9-3 record. She also recording 67 strikeouts in 66 1/3 innings pitched, and had a 3.27 ERA.
Beckendorf, a senior third baseman, had a .310 batting average, was second on the team with a .463 on-base percentage, and second on the team with a .677 slugging percentage. She also had seven doubles, tied for the team lead in home runs with six, and had 28 RBIs.
Meanwhile, the everyone on the team earned Academic All-District Honors.
